Toxic Exposure Limits: Methane
Toxic chemical exposure limits for hazardous gases and vapors, combining ERPG (Emergency Response Planning Guidelines: ERPG-1/2/3), IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health), TLV-TWA (ACGIH Threshold Limit Value, time-weighted average), and NRC Spacecraft Maximum Allowable Concentration (SMAC) limits for 60-min, 24-hr, and 90-day continuous exposure. Covers ~49 chemicals under the ERPG framework and ~30 under NRC SMAC. Data from Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook 8th Ed., Tables 23-16 and 23-17.
| chemical name | exposure framework | continuous 24h ppm (ppm) | continuous 90day ppm (ppm) | nrc volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Methane | NRC_Vol1 | 5,000 | 5,000 | 1 |
