Material Id*

Design Pressure Psi*

Internal design pressure per ASME VIII UG-21 in psi. Must include static head and any surge allowance. Must be below 0.385*S*E for cylindrical shells. Typical: 15-300 psi for process vessels, 300-3000 psi for high-pressure. Include hydrostatic head.

Design Temperature F*

Design metal temperature in degrees Fahrenheit per ASME VIII UG-20. Determines the allowable stress from ASME Section II Part D tables. Typical: 100-650 F for carbon steel. Above 800 F consider alloy materials.

Inside Diameter In*

Inside diameter of the shell or head in inches. For heads, this is the skirt inside diameter. Typical: 12-144 in (1-12 ft) for process vessels, 6-48 in for columns.

Corrosion Allowance In

Added thickness for corrosion/erosion over vessel life per UG-25. Typical: 0.0625-0.25 in for carbon steel, 0 for stainless/clad. If omitted, defaults to 0.125 in.

Joint Efficiency

Weld joint efficiency per ASME VIII UW-12. 1.0 = full radiography (RT), 0.85 = spot RT, 0.70 = no RT. Directly reduces allowable stress. If omitted, defaults to 1.0 (full RT).

Component Type

Vessel component geometry. Each type uses a different UG-27/UG-32 formula: cylindrical (UG-27c), spherical (UG-27d), 2:1 ellipsoidal (UG-32d), hemispherical (UG-32f), torispherical (UG-32e). If omitted, defaults to 'cylindrical_shell'.

Actual Thickness In

Actual nominal plate thickness in inches, if known. When provided, the tool back-calculates the MAWP (Maximum Allowable Working Pressure) from the corroded thickness. If omitted, MAWP is not calculated.
