Chemical Name*

Chemical name as stored in the flammability limits table (e.g. 'Benzene', 'Methanol', 'Acetone', 'Hydrogen'). Use the common or IUPAC name, not trade names.

Release Rate Cfm

Volumetric release rate of the flammable vapor/gas in cubic feet per minute. If provided, the tool calculates required dilution ventilation to maintain concentration below LEL/safety_factor.

Room Volume Ft3

Volume of the enclosed space in cubic feet. If provided, enables concentration buildup estimation for the enclosed space.

Safety Factor

Divisor applied to the LEL to set the target ventilation concentration. A factor of 4 targets 25% of LEL, which is the standard safety margin per NFPA 30 and most industrial hygiene practice. Typical: 4.0 (25% of LEL) per NFPA 30. Higher for occupied spaces. If omitted, defaults to 4.0.
